I conducted an analysis of the challenges, including accommodating multiple users within a household and facilitating appointment scheduling amidst various daily commitments. To gain a deeper insight into user preferences and requirements, I conducted interviews with colleagues and acquaintances, created user persona and user journeys.

Rayne

Occupation : Teacher
Age : 35
Bio : Rayne is a health conscious and is often on the go. She is a teacher that has health concerns and wants all her medical information at her fingertips. She also wants to find information about her physical and mental health especially since she has health issues that affect her daily life.

James

Occupation : Stay at home dad
Age : 30
Bio : James is a stay at home dad that has a busy schedule taking his kids to school and extracurricular activities. He doesn't have a lot of downtime running the household.

Analyze & Define

During the early stages of developing Olive, I noticed a problem with users understanding how the app works. So, I decided to focus on connecting health and wellness, especially because many users don't immediately think of exercise in relation to medical consultations. To make the app better for users, I carried out a range of research activities, like preference testing, card sorting exercises, tree testing, and moderated user testing. These evaluations gave really helpful insights into what users expect, which then helped come up with a more strategic and informed approach to the design process.

Ideate

Upon identifying user pain points, such as the issue of excessive click-through interactions, I conducted a comprehensive analysis and proceeded to generate rapid ideations aimed at addressing the challenges experienced by users.

Prototype

During the course of this project, I put a lot of effort into creating a series of prototypes. These prototypes were really important because they helped explore and improve the design ideas in a systematic way. I took a lot of care in creating each prototype, making sure they focused on different aspects of the user experience. This was really valuable because it allowed me to test and validate the design solutions at different stages of the project. By taking this iterative approach, I was able to find the best design choices and make sure that the final product met the needs and expectations of the users.

Prototype 1

This prototype was too dated looking.

Prototype 2

Prototype 2

Prototype 2

This prototype appeared to convey a spa-like atmosphere rather than a focus on health and wellness.

Prototype 3&4

In version three I made significant strides in creating a more user-centric experience, particularly in the context of health and wellness. This marked a crucial step in the product's evolution. By version four I was able to show the growing importance of health-related features and user well-being in the design and functionality of the application.
